SSC SSA / UDC Grade LDCE Recruitment 2026 – Apply Online for Senior Secretariat Assistant & Upper Division Clerk Posts

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the official notification for the Senior Secretariat Assistant (SSA) / Upper Division Clerk (UDC) Grade Limited Departmental Competitive Examination (LDCE), 2025 for the Central Secretariat Clerical Service (CSCS) under the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT).

This recruitment is a Limited Departmental Competitive Examination (LDCE) and is only for eligible serving Lower Division Clerks (LDCs) / Junior Secretariat Assistants (JSAs) working in the CSCS cadre. Eligible departmental candidates can apply online through the official SSC portal.

Educational Qualification & Eligibility

Candidates must:

  • Be a regularly appointed Lower Division Clerk (LDC) / Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA) in the Central Secretariat Clerical Service (CSCS).
  • Have at least five years of approved continuous service in the LDC grade as on 01 August 2025 (or four years in specified cases mentioned in the notification).
  • Fulfil the other departmental eligibility conditions prescribed by DoPT.

This examination is not open to fresh graduates or direct applicants.

Age Limit

The official notification does not prescribe a separate upper age limit for this departmental examination. Candidates must satisfy the departmental service eligibility conditions mentioned in the notification.

Selection Process

The selection process includes:

  • Computer Based Examination (CBT)
  • Evaluation of APAR/Service Records
  • Document Verification

The final merit list will be prepared based on the prescribed evaluation process.

Salary

Selected candidates will be promoted to:

  • Senior Secretariat Assistant / Upper Division Clerk
  • Pay Level-4 (7th CPC)
  • ₹25,500 – ₹81,100

Additional Central Government allowances and benefits will be applicable as per rules.
